my JouRnEy

My journey through perimenopause was difficult. Like many women, I was told I was “too young” for what I was experiencing. I struggled to understand what was happening in my body, and for a long time, I didn’t have the information or support I needed to make sense of it.

As I searched for answers, I began to understand just how much there is to learn about menopause—and how difficult it can be to find clear, trustworthy information. I also came to see that this experience is about so much more than symptoms. It can change how we see our bodies, our relationships, our work, and ourselves.

We often lose parts of who we thought we were during this time, while discovering parts of ourselves we may have forgotten, set aside, or never had the opportunity to know. Sometimes we find ourselves becoming someone new.

I wanted to create the kind of support I had needed myself: opportunities to learn and understand, receive thoughtful guidance, connect with others, reflect on what is changing, and find meaningful ways to honor this transition.

My journey continues to shape how I work—with curiosity, compassion, honesty, and a deep respect for the complexity of becoming who we are next.

My BackgRound

Health Educator + Therapist + Herbalist + Grief Tender + Artist

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and a Master’s degree in Social Work, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I also have formal training in clinical herbalism, which informs a broader, more integrated understanding of the body and the role of nature-based support.

Over the past 20 years, I have worked as a sexual health educator, public health outreach coordinator, mental health case manager and program manager, and psychotherapist. My work has centered on supporting people navigating complex trauma, life transitions, and grief, and helping them find ways to heal, feel grounded, and reconnect with themselves.

I am also an artist, primarily working in ceramics. You can learn more about my artistic work at adbceramics.com.

My Belief

I believe women deserve clear, evidence-informed education and compassionate support as they move through the changes of midlife. But I also believe this transition is about more than understanding our bodies or managing symptoms.

We often move through modern life disconnected from the things that have always helped us feel grounded and whole: our bodies, one another, the natural world, our communities, and our connection to something larger than ourselves. I believe we each carry a capacity for these connections, even when we have lost touch with them.

Midlife can be an invitation to find our way back—to ourselves, to each other, to the living world around us, and to the deeper well of connection that is part of being alive.

I hope you will join me on this journey.
